The Audacity of Barack

Yes, the audacity of Barack to hit the ground running. On January 21st he took off his jacket rolled up his sleeves and had the audacity to begin the task of tackling our economy, our healthcare, the auto industry, ending the war in Iraq, and addressing the mounting problems in Afghanistan and Pakistan. As we all know this is just the “tip” of the iceberg. These are just a few of the countless problems facing our nation today.

The political pundits on the airwaves and the net discuss daily what Barack should and should not do, what will work and definitely what won’t work. They just chew it all up and constantly spit everything out to us without having to digest any of it… That is left to the Audacity of Barack! Now they are daily contemplating whether or not Barack should take on all of these issues at the same time. Can he do it? How successful will he be taking so much on at the same time? Is he setting himself and the American people up for a disastrous outcome? Just more chew it up and spit it out.

Well, I for one can see clearly and applaud ‘the hit the ground running philosophy’, ‘the urgency of now’, and above all the Audacity of President Obama to tell the American people like it really is. Recently the President was criticized for not including a “ray of hope” when speaking to the American people. Surely this person must have been living on another planet. From the start of Barack’s campaign, throughout his campaign, in his acceptance speeches and in his Inauguration address, this President has not only written a book titled the Audacity of hope, he has become a living breathing symbol of what is and what can be possible when we believe and have the Audacity to hope. At this time in the history of our Nation we need to have the Audacity of Barack!

Lord, give us grace to trust You when

Life's burdens seem too much to bear;

Dispel the darkness with new hope
And help us rise above despair. -Sper

I Timothy 2:1-2 I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone; for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
